Central to RTA’s regional transportation service are the Relax-and-Ride (R&R) commuter express bus routes that connect the Nashville MTA system. Riders relax as they leave the driving to us. Additional routes are under study.
Riding the bus to work provides extra time in the morning to relax, catch up on work or enjoy the peace and quiet of the commute. RTA currently offers the following commuter bus service between downtown Nashville and surrounding areas:

(Seniors age 65 and over, people with disabilities, Medicare card holders. To use the reduced fare, alert driver before boarding and be prepared to show verification of age or school, or other special identification.) - 20-Ride Pass – $60.00

Purchasing Tickets & Passes
You can purchase One-way Ride Tickets for the Route 92X Gallatin/Hendersonville Express on all buses using cash (exact change required). You can purchase 20-Ride Passes for Route 92X at Music City Central, 400 Charlotte Ave., in downtown Nashville from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, using exact cash, check, mobility check or money order.
You can also purchase 20-Ride Passes online at the MTA Web site. If you have questions, or do not receive your items within five days, please contact Customer Care at: 615-862-8833, or email rta@nashville.gov.
Park & Ride Lots
For the Route 92X Gallatin/Hendersonville Express, Park & Ride lots are available in Gallatin at the Walmart parking lot at Belvedere and Nashville Pike, and in Hendersonville at the Kohl’s parking lot in the Glenbrook shopping area. Parking is in RTA-designated spaces at these locations. Please park carefully so as not to obstruct shopping center traffic, and consider patronizing stores at these locations as an expression of thanks. Remember, these spots are designated for your convenience and you park at your own risk.

Nashville/Murfreesboro Relax & Ride
TO Nashville (Monday – Friday)

* From Bell Road to downtown Nashville, this bus runs as an express and only stops to drop off passengers.
FROM Nashville (Monday – Friday)

** This bus serves Edge-O-Lake Plaza Park-n-Ride.
No service on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays.

Park & Ride Lots
For Route 96X Nashville/Murfreesboro Relax & Ride, Park & Ride lots are available along the route at the Edge-O-Lake Plaza in Antioch, Kroger in La Vergne, and Kmart Shopping Center in Smyrna. Each shopping center has agreed to designate a portion of their parking lot for commuters’ use. Please park carefully so as not to obstruct shopping center traffic, and consider patronizing stores at these locations as an expression of thanks. Remember, these spots are designated for your convenience and you park at your own risk.
General Policies & Helpful Information
Bus Stop Signs
In Rutherford County, bus stops are marked with a bright blue R&R bus stop sign. The bus will also stop in Rutherford County if you flag it down along the route on Murfreesboro Road. (The bus operator will stop as close as it is safely possible). In Davidson County, the bus shares designated bus stops with the MTA. MTA bus stops are marked with a red diamond if the Commuter Bus stops there.
Weekly and Holiday Schedule
RTA R&R Commuter Bus service operates weekdays only. There will be no service on New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas.
Weather Policy
RTA R&R Commuter Bus routes will not change due to weather. However, bad weather may delay or cancel service. For additional information concerning our weather policy, call RTA at 615-862-8833.

Only service animals are permitted onboard.
Passengers with Disabilities
RTA R&R Commuter Buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts.
Ridesharing
If the RTA R&R Commuter Bus route does not meet your commute needs, there may be other options. Call the RIDE program at 615-862-8833 to find out if there is a potential carpool or vanpool for your work trip.
Emergency Ride Home
Are you a regular RTA R&R Commuter Bus rider? Join the Emergency Ride Home program. You'll get a free ride home in case of an emergency, illness, or unexpected overtime (maximum 6 trips per year).
